LYC invites all to uplifting “A Christmas Festival Concert” Dec. 19, featuring singers from 40 area schools
Please join the Louisville Youth Choir (LYC) with singers grades kindergarten through adult for LYC’s “A Christmas Festival Concert” at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 19, at the Middletown Christian Church, 500 North Watterson Trail.
Highlights of the uplifting, community-minded concert will include:
• Singers, K-12, from 40 regional schools across the Louisville area and Southern Indiana
• Beautiful accompaniment from professional and youth guest instrumentalists
• Caroling with audience participation
• LYC adult alumni singers’ performance
• Beloved Christmas classics, such as “O Holy Night” blended with contemporary arrangements of “Lo, how a rose e’er blooming” and Pachelbel’s “Canon in D”
• LYC’s annual tradition of the evocative, candlelit “Silent Night” in the round

LYC welcomes singers from every Metro District and surrounding counties in both Ky. and Southern Ind., with a program that complements school choirs and offers a city-wide auditioned youth choir to build confidence and hone vibrant, diverse talent.
LYC never turns a singer away because of inability to pay and offers scholarships and tuition assistance. Through LYC’s diverse population, programs, and music, LYC’s leaders of tomorrow learn discipline, self-confidence, leadership and teamwork.
Louisville Youth Choir (www.LouYouthChoir.org) LYC, a 501(c)3 performing arts organization located at 3105 Lexington Rd., was established in 1967 to create a passion for singing among young people.
LYC’s goal is to enhance musical education and performance experiences for students throughout the region.
