Amplify Songs of Justice | Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration
FREE FOR ALL!
This event is free, but ticketed. Please reserve your ticket to ensure you have a seat!
As part of Metro Louisville’s official Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration, Kentucky Opera’s Third Annual Amplify Songs of Justice is an evening of inspiring music, art, and spoken word commemorating this important date in American history.
Local artists raise their voices to sing and celebrate freedom with performances honoring Black musical traditions.
This concert also features Songs of Justice, five civil rights songs commissioned by Kentucky Opera in 2020, composed by Jorell Williams to lyrics by Paula McCraney.
Doors open at 6 pm; concert begins at 7 pm.
Love to sing yourself? Join the Juneteenth Jubilee Choir, a volunteer choir that performs as part of the evening’s lineup.
The Juneteenth Jubilee Choir is a group of individuals from our community who love to sing and who seek justice for all. This choir will meet to rehearse weekly beginning in May. Please let us know if you want to join us. No experience necessary!
