Spring is in the air! Along with the warmer weather comes what many animal welfare organizations refer to as “kitten season.” Kitten season begins in early Spring and ends in Fall/Winter, and it is when the greatest number of kittens are born. During this time period, the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) becomes flooded with litters of young kittens needing life-saving care. While kittens are adorable and fun, the sheer number of kittens turned in overwhelms the shelter and can leave KHS very short on supplies and foster caregivers.
