SUMMARY:Raising Daughters “On the Road” Tour | with Ian Fisher\, Small Chucks and Kathryn Brooks
DESCRIPTION:Event Name:\nRaising Daughters “On the Road” Tour featuring Ian Fisher\, Small Chucks and Kathryn Brooks \nEvent Date:\n2024-09-15 \nWebsite / Ticket Link:\nhttp://Raisingdaughtersmusic.com \nLocation:\nChapel of St. Philip Neri \nEvent Host:\nHallie Riddick/Raising Daughters \nEvent Description / Other Info:\nRaising Daughters is a band founded by Hallie Riddick a YPAS alum and her band partner Josette.\nAISING DAUGHTERS is a country folk music duo featuring Josette Axne and Hallie Riddick. The two met as students attending the National Theater Institute (NTI) in 2019. Hallie\, a director\, and Jo\, an actor\, found themselves working on a variety of projects together. However\, it wasn’t until 2020\, when they returned to NTI as apprentices that their partnership as musicians began. \nAfter a few months being back at NTI\, the two daughters were sitting down in their living room every night and building songs. Living in isolation off the coast of Connecticut\, both daughters were far from home; they wrote songs to remember\, idolize\, criticize\, and reimagine their hometowns. Their songs took on the role of a diary- traveling from past to present and interrogating their coming of age stories. Eventually they created an album filled with lullabies\, anthems\, and love letters to their past selves. In 2021\, the pair traveled to Saint Augustine\, Florida\, where they finished recording their album. The two eventually named their album\, GET HOME. GET HOME was released on all streaming platforms in October 2021. \nThe Kentucky and Colorado natives now live in New York City and have spared no time launching themselves into the new music scene. The daughters have been grateful to perform at iconic venues like Bowery Electric\, Cafe Wha\, Mercury lounge and sold out Rockwood Music Hall for their EP release in February 2024 . Hal and Jo went on the “Maiden Voyage” tour of the northeast with artist\, Belle Shea\, in August 2024 and sold out their DC premiere at the Scooby Doo Mansion. Since moving to New York in 2022\, RD has been working with producer\, Jason Sill\, and released their single\, Nor’easter\, in 2023. Their EP\, Petty Crimes\, was released February 2024 and their newest single\, House Song\, was released summer 2024. \nSome of RD’s biggest inspirations are: Brandi Carlile\, The Chicks\, Alanis Morissette\, Taylor Swift\, Tracy Chapman\, Liz Phair\, Kacey Musgraves\, Alison Krauss\, Nora Jones\, Dolly Parton\, and Indigo Girls
