Championing self-expression\, the Louisville UnFair provides an inclusive and unconventional platform for local artists to showcase their talents and to connect with the community. \nOriginally created as a rebel art show for locals\, by locals\, the UnFair lifts marginalized artists in our community allowing them to push boundaries and fuel the city’s evolving art scene. While not as large as other traditional “white-tent” arts and crafts fairs\, the eclectic mix of local art\, loud music\, and free expression provide an unmatched level of pure authenticity. \nUnFair happens the first full weekend in October at Mag Bar. Their combined experience in art\, culture\, and community ensures a thoughtful and insightful selection process that celebrates the diverse talents showcased within our vibrant community. \n\nEd Hamilton – Award winning\, nationally renowned sculptor\, whose body of work includes the Joe Louis sculpture in Joe Louis Arena\, Detroit\, MI The Booker T. Washington Monument at Hampton University\, Hampton\, VA and The Spirit of Freedom\, Civil War Monument in Washington\, DC (the first public sculpture in the nation’s capital created by an African American.\nAndre’ Kimo Guess\, President & CEO\, Fund for the Arts (FFTA) – He notably served as the Vice President and Producer of Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) in New York City and as President and CEO of the August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Pittsburgh.
