SUMMARY:Pink snails interactive art installations | moving across Louisville towards to 21c Museum Hotel
DESCRIPTION:Thirty-five large\, pink snails have started their journey from Woodland Farm in Goshen to downtown Louisville ahead of Steve Wilson’s Kentucky Derby Eve party. \nThe Pink Snail Migration\, which organizers described as a moving art installation\, will end at 21c Museum Hotel for “Steve’s Derby Eve” party\, hosted by Wilson and his wife\, Laura Lee Brown\, May 1. After beginning their journey April 3\, the snails will travel more than 35 miles through four different zones each week. \n“I think people are excited about the pink snails much the same way they are the multi color penguins of 21c\,” Wilson said in a statement. “The artists have used bright colors and scale to spark creativity in all of us. It’s so exciting when Art can move us to be excited and make the day more pleasant and even cause us to smile or chuckle.” \nThe snails were created by Cracking Art\, an Italian art group that has been making bright colored animals – including the hotel’s red penguins – for the past 25 years. The snails will pop up overnight across the metro area and turn “everyday spaces into moments you can’t ignore\,” organizers said on Instagram. \nThe project is raising money and awareness for Norton Cancer Institute’s Breast Health Program\, which\, Wilson said\, “has been very successful in making people aware” of its efforts. \n***details above from Courier Journal article \n***image owned by ThingsToLou LLC \n\nFind out where the snails are on their Instagram profile
