DESCRIPTION:The Kids Center Walk & Roll is back and better than ever! Grab your capes\, lace up your sneakers\, and join us as we walk\, roll\, and celebrate the incredible achievements of our kids. \nEach year\, families\, friends\, staff\, and community partners form teams to honor our children’s remarkable efforts. \nTogether\, we’ll walk or roll along Waterfront Park’s scenic one-mile path\, symbolizing our commitment to supporting their journey. \nFollowing the walk\, the festivities continue at the Big Four Lawn with games\, food\, interactive activities\, and more. It’s a day filled with joy\, laughter\, and fun for the whole family! \nClick here for tickets \nFor more information visit: https://kidscenterky.org/events-calendar/2024-walk-roll/ \nEVENT DETAILS\nSaturday\, August 24 | Waterfront Park\, Big Four Lawn\n8 AM – Registration Opens\n9 AM – Walk Begins \nFUNDRAISING GOAL: $100\,000 \nOver 300 walkers and rollers come together\, not just to walk\, but to raise funds and support Kids Center’s mission to provide access to transformative therapies\, regardless of a family’s financial capacity to afford the full cost of care. \nUnfortunately\, insurance doesn’t cover the full cost of these critical therapies\, leaving a funding gap of about $2\,000 per child each year. \nBecome part of a larger effort to empower children with physical\, behavioral\, and intellectual challenges. Together\, we can bridge the gap between state and insurance funding\, ensuring no child is turned away. Your support is an investment in the future of our community! \n**This event is produced by Kids Center for Pediatrics** \n  \n  \n***Description from website

SUMMARY:A Taste for Life 2024
DESCRIPTION:Description from Facebook event: \n\nJoin us June 23rd for A Taste for Life – “Raising awareness for an at-risk industry.” \nGet your early bird tickets!!! \nPurchase your tickets at: https://louky.ticketspice.com/taste-for-life \nTickets are buy one get one half off until Derby!!!!!! Don’t miss this limited time deal! \nIn 2018 Chef Anthony Bourdain tragically took his own life\, sending shockwaves through not only the service industry but through the whole world. If someone so seemingly happy and successful wasn’t openly talking about and dealing with his mental health struggles\, how many others were similarly struggling and hurting? \nIn his honor\, we\, @chefchrisfourpegs\, @ironlo\, @derrick_norris00\, and @cheflee8744\, came together and decided we needed to do something. As chefs\, we realized that there was an important conversation that we needed to have. The stress and pressures of the service industry are immense. We need to take care of each other and talk about the real struggles that we face\, not just in our kitchens and restaurants\, but in our personal lives as well. \nA Taste for Life was born from that idea. We want people to get together\, have fun\, eat great food and start the conversation about mental health and suicide prevention. \nThis amazing event is back for its 5th year featuring; 35+ chefs from your favorite restaurants offering amazing bites\, a silent auction\, DJ Mada OneSeven spinning the tunes\, a bourbon pull\, knowledgeable speakers\, and YOU! Emceed by the amazing @dawnegee ! All benefitting @namilouisville and @petefoundation! \nWe want to help erase the stigma and start the conversation around mental health and suicide prevention. Come and be a part of the solution to this issue that so many face in the shadows. Help to spread the word that #itsoktonotbeok
