This year\, The Parklands is getting the party started early with Earth Day Fest on Friday\, April 18th\, and a creek sweep on Saturday\, April 19th.  \nEarth Day Fest will be held at the Ogle Foundation Woodland Pavilion\, the Moss Gibbs Woodland Garden\, and the Greensward area of Broad Run Park. \nPlease check back for a full list of scheduled activities and participating vendors! \n  \nSchedule of events: \n\nAll night: Vendor booths\, food trucks\, beer vendors\, field games\, and community partner tables will be set up to browse throughout the event.\n5:00: Free Tree Giveaway – Receive a free tree while supplies last! Trees are being donated by the Louisville Metro Office of Urban Forestry. Since the funds for the donated trees come from Jefferson County taxpayers\, the Office of Urban Forestry asks that the trees be distributed to people who reside in Jefferson County. Please be prepared to show a valid driver’s license with an address listed within the county.\n\n* List of Trees in the Giveaway include: Burr Oak\, American Hornbeam\, Blackgum\, Serviceberry\, and Spicebush. All trees are in three-gallon containers and will be given on a first come\, first serve basis. Only one tree will be given out to each Jefferson County resident.\n\n\n5:00 – 7:00: Woodland Garden Music Walk – Enjoy a self-guided hike through the Moss Gibbs Woodland Garden. Various acoustic musicians and ephemeral art installations will be stationed throughout the garden.
