SUMMARY:The Summer StoryWalk® @ Parklands | “Jumper: A Day in the Life of a Backyard Jumping Spider”
DESCRIPTION:The Parklands of Floyds Fork invites you to a StoryWalk®! Enjoy reading a children’s book while walking along The Egg Lawn Signature Trail. Follow the signs placed around The Egg Lawn to read the entire story. Along the way learn about nature and complete suggested activities on the back of the signs! Different StoryWalk® will be put up four times this year and they will only be out for a limited time. Once open\, families and individuals can drop in anytime from dawn to dusk to read the story at no charge! \nSigns will be up by noon on the start day of the event and will be taken down the day after the end date. \nStoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to temporary signs\, which are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail\, you’re directed to the next page in the story. On the back of the signs\, you will find more information and activity prompts. StoryWalks® have been installed in 50 states and 13 countries. \nThe StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier\, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. \nOur Summer StoryWalk® book is “Jumper: A Day in the Life of a Backyard Jumping Spider” by Jessica Lanan. \nStory Summary: From critically acclaimed illustrator of The Lost Package comes a bold nonfiction story following a day in the life of a backyard jumping spider – meticulously researched and utterly charming. \nWhat if you were small as a bean\,\nCould walk on the walls and ceiling\,\nSense vibrations through your elbows\,\nAnd jump five times your body length?\nThat is Jumper’s world. \nOpen this book to discover the vibrant\, hidden life of a backyard jumping spider. \n***description from Facebook event\n***MORE INFO on website
