SUMMARY:Pandora Productions presents "Avenue Q"
DESCRIPTION:Avenue Q\nAges 18+ \nA puppet-filled comedy follows a group of twenty-somethings seeking their purpose in big-city life. Presented by Pandora Productions. \n\nSponsored by Best Blind and Shade \nMusic and Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx\, Book by Jeff Whitty\, Based on an Original Concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx \nWinner of the Tony “Triple Crown” for Best Musical\, Best Score and Best Book\, Avenue Q is part flesh\, part felt and packed with heart. \nSummary:\nThe laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton\, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that\, although the residents seem nice\, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together\, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs\, dates and their ever-elusive purpose in life. \nFilled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score\, not to mention puppets\, Avenue Q is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues\, it is similar to a beloved children’s show; a place where puppets are friends\, Monsters are good\, and life lessons are learned. \nFeaturing: Shelby Brown\, Louisa Frey\, Regina Frost\, David Galloway\, Kate Holland Ballowe\, Zac Campbell-Hoogendyk\, Hannah Lechleiter\, Elliot Meadows\, Kristina Nguyen\, Derrick Palmer\, Jeff Pecans\, Tony Smith\, Morgan Spaulding\, Sean Turley \nDirected by Gil Reyes \nMusic Direction by Hannegan Roseberry \n  \n***Description from eventbrite

SUMMARY:CreativeMornings: Natalie Officer
DESCRIPTION:Creative Mornings — Natalie Officer\nApr 25\, 2025 • 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM EDT • Speed Art Museum \npart of a series on Crossroads \nRegister soon! Sign ups start here on Monday\, April 21\, 9:00 am \nAbout the speaker \nNatalie is the driving creative force behind the namesake firm Natalie O Design at 701 Kentucky Street in Louisville. She is first and foremost a storyteller\, “the narrator\, the interpreter and the voice that allows clients’ stories to be expressed with clarity and beauty.” You will find her work visible throughout the city\, the interior updates at 500 Jefferson\, the facade of Republic Bank\, the original Story Co-Working space\, Please and Thank You in Nulu\, Bamboo Coffee and Donuts\, newly opened Atomic and Ashbrook Hotel in Frankfort. Her interior design team crafted a careful restoration of the historic and iconic Leight House\, featured at the Speed.\nShe has been in lock step with the owner of the Russell neighborhood 16 room mansion renovation (Follow @RemakingaMansion). Her projects and writing span publication in Dwell\, Aspire Design and Home\, Apartment Therapy and documentation on Magnolia Networks\, “Where We Call Home” and “In With the Old”. With over 25 years’ shared and built experience in fashion and design\, Natalie brings an earnest and fresh approach to her work. Gathered from rural Indiana life and collected experiences in Chicago\, New York and London\, the spine of her craft is deeply rooted in searches for innovative and unique pieces. Thriving on the use of textiles\, texture and unexpected touches\, her work spotlights local makers and artists in both residential and commercial projects.\nYou can find her “side hustle” passion for art nested in the wall of her studio at her OArt Gallery. This spring she will launch a collaborative furniture line at ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) in New York. The line aims to shine light on the combined talents of regional craftspeople bringing their love for the craftsmanship far beyond the often-expected folk art feel of the Midwest.\nYou can find her in the field with an intentional foot planted in the hands-on grit of the work\, and the other in the purpose of progress. The Natalie O Design is currently listed as an Architectural Digest Pro for 2025. Natalie is in lockstep with her team Julie\, Sydney and Maddy and enjoys parenting\, partnering and planting life in Kentucky\, by design. NOD is working in Nashville\, Cincinnati and as far away as New Jersey and California. \n  \n***Description from website

SUMMARY:KMAC Couture 2025: Art Walks the Runway
DESCRIPTION:KMAC Contemporary Art Museum\, located in historic downtown on Museum Row is Louisville’s premier contemporary art museum. Through exhibitions\, education\, and outreach\, KMAC works to connect people to art and creative practice. KMAC is where Art is the Big Idea and Craft is the Process. \nAbout the event:\nKMAC Couture is a wearable art runway show presented as the signature fundraiser for KMAC that provides funding for the Museum’s education programs and exhibits. KMAC Couture launched in 2013 as a distinct fashion event that allowed KMAC to showcase its unique position as a contemporary art museum that celebrates ideas at the crossroads of art\, craft\, and design. \nAs KMAC Couture enters the teenage years\, our 2025 runway celebrates the occasion of its auspicious thirteenth birthday with a tribute to all things lucky. All looks for this edition of Art Walks the Runway will pay homage to the charms and superstitions that offer hope and allow us to explore that sometimes all too rare of human faculties—the ability to dream and to think big! \nHere is a preview of the show \nSome participants over the years have invented their own textiles and employed unconventional materials that help push the boundaries of wearability\, constructing work that can be both costume and sculpture. Others have created fantastical garments with a more functional and durable quality\, but that are likewise extraordinary in how they explore the range of possibilities for artistic expression through the items we wear\, canvasing the human body in limitless ways. \nKMAC Couture will return home to Main Street for 2025! The event will take place in front of KMAC Contemporary Art Museum\, in a tented area that spans the 700 block of Main Street! \nWe at KMAC are excited to see you there to celebrate KMAC Couture “Lucky#13” and look forward to seeing you on April 19th at 7:15 p.m. \nEVENT DETAILS:\nDate: Saturday April 19th\, 2025 \nLocation: KMAC Contemporary Art Museum\, 715 W Main Street\, Louisville\, KY 40202 \n*Carpooling and ridesharing is encouraged\, limited parking available via street parking or paid lots in the area of the museum. \n  \nSchedule:\n7:15p Pre-show Cocktail Reception \n8:30p KMAC Couture Runway Show \nAfter Party immediately follows Runway Show inside KMAC Museum! \n  \nRequested Attire:\nShades of white/ neutrals are requested to allow the garments in the show to really POP! \n  \nSilent Auction:\nPlease regularly visit http://www.kmacmuseum.org/couture for updates to the KMAC Couture 2025 Silent Auction packages. \n  \nPlease note: \nAll ticket purchases are non-refundable\, even in the event a live event is not possible because of issues related to Covid-19 or inclement weather. The event is planned as a fundraising event for KMAC Museum and as such\, money is spent as it is received for exhibition and educational support. \n  \nTicket Pricing:\nKMAC Couture Event Ticket Pricing:\n1st Row- $390\n2nd Row- $290\n3rd Row- $240\n4th Row- $175 \nADD ON: Champagne Upgrade available for an additional $100\nOne bottle of champagne waiting at your seat to enjoy during the runway show! \nVIP ACCESS – MAIN TICKET ADD ON – Only $77!\nAccess an exclusive VIP area during the KMAC Couture Afterparty\, with specialty craft cocktails and themed interactive experiences! \nAfterparty Only Ticket Pricing:\nAfterparty Only Ticket + VIP ACCESS – $150\nAfterparty Only – Not Yet Available \n  \n***Description from website
