SUMMARY:The Haunted Trolley Tour: 2-Hour Ghost Tour in Old Louisville\, The Highlands & Downtown | promo code!
DESCRIPTION:Venture under the cover of darkness aboard one of our vintage trolleys to find the side of Bourbon City that many are too afraid to look for. As the sun sets over Old Louisville’s gaslit streets\, our expert storyteller will guide you through two centuries of restless spirits\, haunted landmarks\, and paranormal legends that have made Louisville one of the most paranormally active cities in America. One part ghost story\, one part true crime — every tale grim\, and every tale true. \nBook your tour here!\nUse code “thingstolou10” to save 10%!\n\nThis 2-hour narrated ride begins in the Victorian heart of Old Louisville — long whispered to be America’s most haunted neighborhood — before winding through the Highlands and into the heart of Downtown\, with a stop along the way for a drink at one of the city’s own haunted haunts. \nUnder all of her grandeur\, Derby City hides her darkest secrets in plain sight. Hop on\, if you dare. \nWhat’s included\nTransportation aboard a historic trolley \nNarration from an expert local Ghost Host and tour guide \nSpine-tingling tales of haunted Louisville landmarks and neighborhoods \nWhat’s not included\nAdmission to attractions or museums along the route \nGratuity for your driver & tour guide \nHotel pickup and drop-off \nGhost hunting (but if you meet one\, please let us know) \nItinerary\nOn your 2-hour haunted journey\, you’ll ride between neighborhoods aboard your haunted trolley\, hopping off with your guide to walk the very streets\, sidewalks\, and shadowed corners where these stories took place. \nStart in Old Louisville\, America’s most haunted neighborhood: Begin on an eerily quiet court in America’s largest Victorian neighborhood\, where you’ll hear tales of mansions hiding dark secrets\, quiet inns where phantom residents are said to still linger behind lace curtains\, and a butcher who met the gallows swearing his innocence. \nHop on the Haunted Trolley: Take a ride through Louisville’s historic streets aboard a lantern-lit trolley and hear the horrifying tale of the deadliest train wreck in Kentucky history\, whose passengers some say never departed. Let’s hope they’re not still on board with us…. \nThe Historic Highlands: Head back in time to a Victorian neighborhood a half-century older than Old Louisville\, to a graveyard where the dead were buried atop the dead\, names lost to time and bodies stolen and mutilated. \nStop for Spirits: Pause for a drink at one of Louisville’s own haunted haunts before continuing deeper into the city’s darkest history. \nMake Your Way Downtown: Wind through the city’s haunted heart. Here you’ll find a luxurious hotel where a bride in blue never checked out and traverse streets that once ran with floodwater so deep that the bodies of the drowned floated right up against the cast-iron facades and windows above. Nearby\, the ashes of a deadly hotel fire still cling to the ground where it once stood. \n\nThis tour is made possible by an exclusive partnership between Louisville Food Tours and Old Fashioned Express\, Louisville’s locally-owned trolley company. \n\nCheck-in details\n\nPlease arrive 15 minutes early to check in with your trolley driver and haunted host. All guests must be onboard at the trolley departure time – we don’t want you to miss your ride! \n\n\nOverview\nDuration: 2 Hours\nMeeting point: 1402 Saint James Court Louisville\, KY US 40208\nCancellations: Refundable Tickets allow changes or refunds with at least 48 hours’ notice. SUMMARY:Frazier250: What was the Last Native American Village in Kentucky?
DESCRIPTION:What was the last Native American village in Kentucky? Where was it\, who lived there\, and how did they live? Join the Frazier’s Simon Meiners in a conversation with archaeologist Dr. A. Gwynn Henderson about the last Native American settlement in what is now Kentucky. \nAs the Frazier marks 250 years since 1776—the year America declared its independence—we shine a light on the Native American presence in Kentucky leading up to that time. \nThe late 18th century saw not only the arrival of Euroamerican settlers like Thomas Walker\, James Harrod\, and Daniel Boone in Kentucky—it also saw the abandonment of Kentucky’s last remaining Native American villages as distinct communities. \nDr. Henderson is the Education Director at the Kentucky Archaeological Survey. She has carried out field research in Kentucky\, the Ohio Valley\, Tennessee\, and Mexico\, and she is particularly interested in researching the lifeways of the ancient Native farming cultures of the middle Ohio Valley and the history of mid-18th century Indigenous groups in the same region. She will explore what the material evidence suggests about Lower Shawnee Town (Greenup County) and more. \nABOUT THE PROGRAM\nFrazier250: What was the Last Native American Village in Kentucky?\nSunday\, October 18\, 2026\n1–2 p.m.\nFrazier Kentucky History Museum \nAdmission: Free with cost of museum admission (free for members) (must RSVP)

SUMMARY:Louisville Youth Choir & Louisville Chorus "Lift Every Voice" concert
DESCRIPTION:Louisville Youth Choir and Louisville Chorus join forces to open milestone seasons with “Lift Every Voice” concert on October 18\, uniting 100 multigenerational singers\, spanning ages 8 to 78 \nConcert officially opens the 87th season for Louisville Chorus\, 60th season for Louisville Youth Choir! \n\nDescription:\nThe Louisville Youth Choir and the Louisville Chorus will share the stage for the “Lift Every Voice” concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday\, October 18 at St. Michael Catholic Church\, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive\, Louisville\, Ky. The concert unites more than 100 singers\, ranging from ages 8-78\, who will perform side-by-side in an uplifting\, multi-generational concert. The singers will be accompanied by instrumentalists from the Louisville Youth Orchestra. \n\nTickets:\nTickets are $30 for general admission\, $20 for seniors\, and $10 for students\, available through LouisvilleChorus.org and LouYouthChoir.org. \n\nThe concert opens two milestone seasons at once: the Louisville Youth Choir (LYC) celebrates its 60th season this year\, and the Louisville Chorus (LC) celebrates its 87th season. This is a fully shared production of the two ensembles rather than a guest appearance by either. \n“We are thrilled to open the Louisville Youth Choir’s 60th season by joining voices with the Louisville Chorus! This collaboration gives our young singers the extraordinary opportunity to share the stage with experienced generations of singers—to learn from them\, be inspired by them\, and experience firsthand how choral music connects us across ages. What a meaningful way to celebrate this milestone season and the lifelong joy of singing together\,” said Terri Foster\, LYC Artistic/Exec. Director. \nAt the center of the program is the world premiere of “In Every Tongue” by Zachariah Preston\, LC’s Assistant Artistic Director. The piece\, commissioned for this concert\, weaves together more than 30 languages in a work about music’s ability to cross language\, culture\, and generations. The program also includes Roland Carter’s arrangement of “Lift Every Voice and Sing\,” “We Are the World\,” and “Po Atarau\,” the Māori farewell song known to many as “Now Is the Hour.” \n“When a fifth grader and a singer in their sixties stand shoulder to shoulder on the same piece of music\, the audience hears something neither group can produce alone\,” said Dr. David Borman\, LC Artistic Director. “That is the whole idea of this concert\, and it is the perfect way to open a season built around every voice and every tongue.” \n* * * \nAbout the Louisville Youth Choir (LouYouthChoir.org) \nLYC\, a 501(c)(3) performing arts organization located at 3105 Lexington Rd. (Bldg. 17)\, was established in 1967 to create a passion for singing among young people. LYC’s goal is to enhance musical education and performance experiences for students throughout the region. The Choir currently includes students\, K-12\, from more than 40 area public\, private\, and Catholic schools and annually draws auditioned youth from throughout the metropolitan and Kentuckiana area. LYC is also home to Lascito Coro (Legacy Choir)\, the region’s only adult\, traditional-style soprano and alto choral offering. \nAbout the Louisville Chorus (LouisvilleChorus.org) \nFounded in 1939\, the Louisville Chorus is the region’s longest continuously performing choral ensemble and one of Kentuckiana’s most active arts organizations\, presenting concerts across Louisville Metro and Southern Indiana. Its 87th season\, “In Every Tongue\,” celebrates the languages of the world through choral music\, with every concert built around the linguistic diversity of its repertoire. The Louisville Chorus is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Learn more at LouisvilleChorus.org.
