SUMMARY:Hermitage Farm Whiskey Files series\, featuring Nic Christiansen (Barrell Craft Spirits)
DESCRIPTION:Description submitted to ThingsToLou via things-to-lou.com Event Calendar: \n\nThe Whiskey Files present a rare opportunity to enjoy a bourbon tasting while hearing from those who distill\, blend and produce our state’s most iconic product. Hermitage Farm knows bourbon is\, ultimately\, an agricultural product and grain-to-glass is an important story to tell for the agritourism destination. The 683-acre farm in Goshen is on land placed in a conservation easement to protect it from future development as part of owners Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown’s ongoing efforts to preserve Kentucky’s natural resources. \nTickets to the Whiskey Files are limited to ensure an intimate setting and include a guided tasting and paired bites. Each event will also coincide with the release of a Barn8 Single Barrel from that evening’s distillery\, available in limited quantities only at Hermitage Farm. Guests will have the first opportunity to purchase those bottles and have them signed at the event. \nThe 2024 Whiskey Files series lineup includes: \n– Carson Taylor\, Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co.\, March 20 \n– Elizabeth McCall\, Woodford Reserve\, July 17 \n– Nic Christiansen\, Barrell Craft Spirits\, Nov. 20 \nEach event is at 6 p.m. and will be held in the Stud Barn. Tickets are $65 per person and include two pours\, light bites\, an hour-long discussion panel\, a chance to interact with some of the resident horses\, and the opportunity for early purchase of Barn8 Single Barrel selections. \n\nWebsite / Ticket Link:\nhttps://www.exploretock.com/barn8-restaurant \nLocation:\nHermitage Farm 10500 US-42\, Goshen\, KY 40026 \nEvent Host:\nHermitage Farm Whiskey Files Series \n——- \n\nJoin us as we welcome Nic Christiansen\, Manager of Blending Operations\, from Barrell Craft Spirits. The evening promises a guided tasting of flagship Barrell Craft products while you listen to Nic and her team shed light on what distinguishes their brand. Tickets are limited to ensure an intimate setting for all attendees. \nAbout the speaker:\nNic Christiansen joined Barrell Craft Spirits in 2019 after serving as the Beverage Director at Louisville’s Butchertown Grocery\, where she curated an extensive bar program featuring creative cocktails\, bourbon tasting menus\, and over 25 hand-selected single barrels from around the country. Nic is an Executive Bourbon Steward\, Level 1 Sommelier\, and a former U.S. Bartenders Guild board member. She has also shared her expertise on Top Chef\, educating judges and contestants about cocktails. Nic oversees blending operations\, single barrel\, and private release programs at Barrell Craft Spirits. Her discerning palate is integral to developing and evaluating preliminary blends for all products\, and she manages the logistics of scaling up batches from the lab to the production floor\, all while crafting exciting new blends for future barrel releases. \nAbout the event:\nThis event will take place in our Stud Barn at Hermitage Farm on Wednesday\, November 20th at 6:00pm. Your ticket purchase includes admission to an hour long panel with Nic Christiansen\, pours of two Barrell Craft products specially selected by Nic\, as well as the opportunity to interact with some of our resident horses.

Each year\, the city’s most festive souls gather in their flashiest\, tackiest sweaters to sip bourbon cocktails\, savor local bites\, and revel in the spirit of the season. But this year\, rumors are swirling along with the bourbon. \nWhispers of revenge\, blackmail\, and scandal are heating up faster than a smoked (c)old fashioned\, leaving everyone wondering if someone’s holiday cheer might just be a cover for something sinister.\nOn your tour\, you’ll stroll along Whiskey Row – aka Whiskey Snow – spending most of your time indoors (baby\, it’s cold outside!)\, and stopping at festive eateries and bars for delicious small bites and classic Kentucky cocktails. \nTonight\, you’re a star character in the evening’s Murder Mystery – or even the perpetrator! While sparkling lights and historic charm immerse you in holiday cheer\, the mystery unfolds as your character is revealed and swirling clues unravel the night’s secrets. \nDress up in your most extravagant ugly sweater\, prepare to immerse yourself in your given character\, and get ready to dig deep into a case of holiday chaos and bourbon-fueled intrigue. \n  \nWhat’s included\nThis one-of-a-kind experience combines food\, history\, and mystery for an unforgettable evening in Louisville! Probably. \n\nFAQs \nWhat should I wear?\nWe recommend dressing comfortably\, but also strongly recommend wearing themed attire that matches the evening’s vibe. Over-the-top costumes are highly encouraged! \nHow long is the tour?\nThe tour typically lasts for about 3 hours\, depending on the pace of the group. \nHow many stops are included?\nEach tour includes 4 unique stops where you’ll enjoy delicious food and drinks\, all while gathering clues for the mystery. \nAre dietary restrictions accommodated?\nYes! Please let us know about any dietary restrictions or allergies at the time of booking\, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. \nCan I bring my children?\nOur tours are generally designed for adults\, but if our restaurant partners are able to accommodate folks under 21\, we welcome teens who can appreciate the mystery and themes of the evening. Please check specific age requirements when booking\, as some tours are 21+ due to legal restrictions at our bar partners. \nWhat is included in the ticket price?\nYour ticket includes the guided tour\, all food and drink at the stops\, materials for the murder mystery game\, and fascinating tidbits about the local history. \nDo I need to solve the mystery?\nYes\, we won’t let you go home if you don’t solve the mystery. Kidding! You don’t HAVE to\, but participation in mystery solving is part of the fun\, and everyone is given a role to play. If you’re not one for audience participation\, you might want to take one of our other tours\, where you can just sit back and listen to our guides instead! \nIs there a minimum number of participants for the tour to run?\nYes\, we require a minimum number of 8 participants for the game to work. If the tour does not meet this number\, we will notify you in advance to reschedule or provide a full refund. This is also why our murder mystery food tours run on limited days. \nWhat happens if it rains?\nOur tours typically run rain or shine. If severe weather occurs\, we will contact you to discuss rescheduling or alternative arrangements. \nCancellations\nCancellation Policy\nCustomers may receive a full refund or credit with at least 48 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in the event of operator cancellation. Cancellations can be made through whichever outlet you booked through. No-shows will not receive any refund. Louisville weather can change at a moment’s notice\, so we run our tours in rain or shine. In the event of severe weather\, we will give a full refund or credit. \nMinimum Tour Size Policy\nWhile your party size can be as small as 1 person\, our tours require a minimum of 4 paid guests to run.\nIf we are unable to meet that minimum\, we may reach out to you in advance with a low attendance warning to discuss other options.
