This year\, The Parklands is getting the party started early with Earth Day Fest on Friday\, April 18th\, and a creek sweep on Saturday\, April 19th.  \nEarth Day Fest will be held at the Ogle Foundation Woodland Pavilion\, the Moss Gibbs Woodland Garden\, and the Greensward area of Broad Run Park. \nPlease check back for a full list of scheduled activities and participating vendors! \n  \nSchedule of events: \n\nAll night: Vendor booths\, food trucks\, beer vendors\, field games\, and community partner tables will be set up to browse throughout the event.\n5:00: Free Tree Giveaway – Receive a free tree while supplies last! Trees are being donated by the Louisville Metro Office of Urban Forestry. Since the funds for the donated trees come from Jefferson County taxpayers\, the Office of Urban Forestry asks that the trees be distributed to people who reside in Jefferson County. Please be prepared to show a valid driver’s license with an address listed within the county.\n\n* List of Trees in the Giveaway include: Burr Oak\, American Hornbeam\, Blackgum\, Serviceberry\, and Spicebush. All trees are in three-gallon containers and will be given on a first come\, first serve basis. Only one tree will be given out to each Jefferson County resident.\n\n\n5:00 – 7:00: Woodland Garden Music Walk – Enjoy a self-guided hike through the Moss Gibbs Woodland Garden. DESCRIPTION:April 26th and 27th\, 2025 \n2025 marks the 53nd anniversary of this rite of spring in one of Louisville’s most beautiful and historic neighborhoods. \nThe Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is a juried fair with more than 200 artists’ booths. The two-day event is free and open to the public. The Art Fair is held in Louisville’s historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood on tree-lined Cherokee Parkway between Willow Avenue and Cherokee Road. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming as they celebrate spring with old and new friends alike. The Art Fair began in 1972 and has been one of the area’s favorite events ever since. \nIn addition to a high-quality and diverse selection of art\, patrons of the fair can enjoy food\, drink\, and entertainment. The popular Children’s Parade kicks off the event each year at 10:00 a.m.\, and all kids are welcome to participate in this joyful\, themed march. Other attractions include the Cherokee Triangle Association booth with offerings of Cherokee Triangle branded merchandise and apparel\, and a Children’s Art Tent for hands-on activities throughout the weekend. \nThe annual Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is the major fundraiser for Louisville’s Cherokee Triangle Association (CTA)\, and proceeds are returned to the community and neighborhood. The CTA uses proceeds from the Fair to fund summer concerts in Willow Park and to make donations to the Highlands/Shelby Park branch of the Louisville Free Public Library\, Highlands Community Ministries\, and other local charities. \nThe application window for artists and vendors interested in a booth in the Art fair will be opened for submissions November 15th until January 15\, 2025.
