No kids or pets allowed. No outside alcohol allowed. Floatation device required. Reservation ticket purchase required.
It’s possible they search your car upon entrance to verify you aren’t bringing alcohol in (liability reasons). They do sell alcohol there on Saturdays via a partnership with Country Boy Brewing.
2-Cool off with a frozen dessert!
3-Beat the heat underground at the Louisville Mega Cavern!
What you need to know:
What better way to stay cool than to just avoid the heat? Head underground at one of the United States’ largest underground caves. There are over 100 acres inside Louisville Mega Cavern, which used to be a working limestone mine many decades ago. Attractions inside the cavern include the ziplines, the mega tram, walking tours, ropes courses, and more! Some age restrictions on certain attractions. Tickets purchase required for most activities.
4- Feel the breeze rush over your face on the Belle of Louisville!

The Belle of Louisville was built over 100 years ago and has been moving up and down the Ohio River ever since! And a Belle of Louisville river cruise and is a great way to stay cool this summer in Louisville! They offer multiple tours, including: tours focused on the harbor history, tours featuring bourbon, S.T.E.A.M. (for families), yacht rock, sunset cruises, murder myster dinners, and more!
5 – Louisville Parks outdoor pools & spraygrounds!

Louisville Parks & Recreation operates two outdoor parks and 30+ spraygrounds / spraypads. Great for families who want an easy and affordable way to get out of the house AND cool down!
