About the Artist
- Kevin Harris is an internationally recognized jazz pianist and composer known for his soulful sound, artistic curiosity, and innovative collaborations.
- Rooted in Black Gospel and Afro-Caribbean traditions, his music weaves together jazz, classical, electronic media, and storytelling to create immersive, participatory performances that engage both heart and mind. Praised by artists such as Fred Hersch and Terri Lyne Carrington, Harris’s work explores themes of strength, love, and self-awareness.
- A prolific composer and bandleader, Harris has released six albums and premiered major works including Resonance: A Contemporary Symphonic Reflection Through the Courageous Lens of Steve Biko in South Africa. He is a Yamaha Jazz piano artist and serves on the faculty at Berklee College of Music, where he coaches ensembles, teaches piano, and mentors emerging musicians.
